Is there an easy way to extract a relief valve that is refusing to move and to come out?
So far I’ve tried to screw a tap into it, and added a little heat, but can’t get any movement at all including it not twisting as the tap is screwed into it.
I suspect it is stuck at the bottom of the bore.
I haven’t used force yet, nor lots of heat, but thought I would ask first incase there is a better gentle way of doing it. I have not dismantled the oil pump at this stage.

I think you have the right idea.

Unless you want to remove the oil pump from the engine... which is probably a bit more difficult on the RHD valiants..

Try the tap some more with varying amounts of heat an various types of penetrating oils that you can spray up there to bust up all the old dino oil crud.

Best of luck!

just an update, if anyone else is “stuck" with this. My pump being a RHD car has the remote oil filter and does not have the pump housing that contains the oil filter mount. I found that by removing the brass pipe fitting to the oil line that you can get a suitable drift down this gallery that reaches the relief valve, There is a slight corner from this gallery to the relief valve gallery, but not enough to cause an issue to punch it out with suitable drift and care.
Mine was seized pretty tight and required quite heavy persuasion with the hammer, but no damage was done, and once cleaned all up, it freed up perfectly.
