Hi,
The old pickup screen in my tank is clogged and worn out and I cant wait the week to have a new one shipped. Is going to be any fuel flow problems by adding a second filter outside the tank? I was thinking it will probably filter better anyway. :?:

You'd be amazed at the size of some of the chunks of debris that can be floating around in your gas tank. You can try that, but you shouldn't bitch if your pick up gets clogged up...

When I replaced my tank and rusted shut sending unit, I didn't have another sock to work with, so I just added an external 'pre-filter' after the sending unit on the sub frame rail. No problems so far, but I do worry that the tube will sediment shut eventually and I'll have to replace that again.

So far no problems though...

Is it actually torn up and unusable? I'd hit it with some carb cleaner if you can and see if that helps clean it up.
