Just wondering if anyone knows of any swivel pickups for fuel systems (not oil pans). I am looking for ideas relating to a stock fuel tank in a Drag racing application. |

Lots of cars get a sump welded to the rear of the stock tank for this purpose. R/C aircraft use a weighted pickup on the end of a flexible hose. That solution might make some noise, won't last forever and probably wouldn't follow a tank that slopes up at the rear. Holley has something for you, but it's expensive. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/hydramat/ |

I saw the Holley Hydramat and I am considering that as an option. I just am not particularly crazy about the price. My tank is brand new and came powder coated silver. I really didn't want to cut and weld on it. |

What problem do you forsee? If you keep it more than about 1/4 full, you will not have starvation issues on the dragstrip. If you want to carry less wt, pull the stock tank and get a 2-5 gal fuel cell. Lou |

I figure the build stage is the best time to address things like these. The shape of the tank looks like I would need to keep it about half full. On my Fury, I was able to just extend the fuel pickup farther back in the tank. I will likely do the same on the Belvedere. |

My build stage never ends. Initially put it together (so I have a car that runs), run it, find weak spots, make changes, run again, repeat... Lou |

Cars are never "done" They are either ongoing projects or sold. ![]() I got nothin' on the pickup. I either go fuel cell or leave things alone. My red junk ran pretty good with spray and the stock 5/16" pickup. ![]() |
