Cheap Chuck here. FINALLY tore down my 225 /6 basically to reseal, found a bad cam lobe, so am tearing completely down to rebuild. Am able to use stock size rings, main/rod bearings but need new cam. Still using 1 bbl carb for now anyway, basically a stock rebuild. Would the Comp K64-247-4 cam kit cam be too much? 260 * duration both sides. Gives me cam, lifters, springs, seals, timing gears/link pin chain all in a "together" kit. Having the head trued up be ok too? Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

That cam kit is for a hydraulic lifter engine. Do you have a hydraulic lifter engine? While not a bad choice there are cams better suited to the 225. To run a cam of that duration and no lose low speed torque you'll need to increase the compression ratio a fair amount. You'll need to measure piston deck height and combustion chamber volume to see where you're starting before making changes by milling the block and/or head. |

If you don't have hydraulic valve gear to fit to the engine you cannot use a hydraulic lifter cam. |

This book will be helpful and answer a lot of questions about rebuilding a SL6. https://www.cartechbooks.com/chrysler-s ... odify.html I have a couple of new stock cams and lifters, as well as some "street performance" cam grinds so send me a PM if interested. DD |
