Does anybody have a lifting bracket for a /6 for sale? Do you guys use a lifting bracket when you pull a slant engine out of your vehicle? Anyone have the dimensions? I like the idea of having the engine balanced as I swing it through the cab of my A100! Thanks.....Gary |

I just used a chain bolted to the two large holes in the cylinder head (which are there specifically for lifting the engine). |

I use a load leveler like this one. One bracket on each side bolts to those holes on the cylinder head. You have to remove the valve cover so those cheesy angle brackets don't crush its edge, though. |

Here is a drawing of mine with measurements. Mine had two holes in it. One for the engine only and one for the engine and transmission. Mine came "factory" on the 1980 airport tug I bought. Hey Greg. That's a beefy lifting bracket! I'm thinking you take the transmission out with the engine, and you get some tilt towards the tranny. Is that accurate? Rick's diagram shows a lifting point toward the front attachment bolt to balance the engine more, which is my application. Rick, I am starting to work on the steel I bought and I think I am going to take the valve cover off and make the head attachment holes more centered. On your diagram do you have room to put the chain side towards the valve cover or towards the carb? Thanks again guys. Gary |

Rick's bracket is fantastic, but also SpaceFrank's load leveler is what I use, very cheap and works great as well. |

Same as I use, a little wheel bearing grease on the worm makes things move a lot easier.
