the question is i put a 1/2 quart synthetic tranmission fluin in my torque converter when i reinstalled my rebuilt tranmission. if i use non synthetic tranny fluid to finish filling up the tranmission will this be ok? or do i need to find more synthetic fluid. |

Synthetic is compatible with non synthetic, but I would recommend just filling it up with synthetic. Supposedly synthetic ATF will help your mileage a bit, though that's just heresay. I haven't seen the results myself. |

Check the bottle. I've never used synthetic "trans-missile" fluid, but all the other synthetic lubricants say they are compatible with conventional. I'd bet synthetic trans fluid is, too. "DW" EDIT: Mr. Jopapa posted as I was posting and he has verified what I had supposed. |

The synthetic trans fluid is supposed to be more heat resistant than the regular, just like the synthetic engine oil. I just changed the ATF out of my 833OD trans and put in 2 qts syn ATF and 1 qt 0-30 syn motor oil. It shifts better now and I feel better with some oil in there than all ATF. Cecil |
