Post subject:  low compression forged piston/rod combo?

I've got this forged 225 motor that I will turbo'ing soon. I need a forged rod/piston combo that will yield me 8.0-8.5:1 compression, with a maximum overbore of 0.030", preferably none.

Is there a combo out there that will work, that won't cost me an arm and a leg and a ton of machine work? I'd like to keep the stock stroke if possible, and I don't really want to do any crank modifications if I can avoid it.

I'm in the same boat. If you come up with anything let me know. Although I'd like to go with a bigger overbore if I thought I could get away with it.

That group buy idea from that other thread is a good idea. I'd be in for that.

using a brass(?) bushing for the con rod pin makes metric pistons useable. I remember Jyri from finnland who had a set of 198rods and bushings to work with VW Pistons, I think i remember something with VW Type III engine ? I think most modern pistons are rather "short" from the top to the pin, so you may need the longer 198ci con rods. Search for "Jyri" at .org and .com.
