Post subject:  Loss all electrical power

Hello,
I was driving my 72 valiant about an hour ago lost all power no horn no lights no engine. Jiggling around the connectors under the hood the connector that goes to the fusible link was corroded turned out to be an easy fix. (Also how do I change the fusible link ?does it pull from the firewall connections?
I I was able to get a terminal connector into both the male and female ends to clean the powdery corrosion.
Back in business on I went. When I got home and took a closer look I noticed there is considerable corrosion on the entire firewall connector. Any thoughts this has served the car well for 50 years at this point. Thoughts or suggestions on where to go next? Car runs awesome it just gives me pause to go far from the house thinking I might be stranded.
Thanks to all and happy new year

There are several threads on this site about fusable links, including possible substitutes for them DIY.
On several of our 75 Darts I've sprayed down the big firewall connectors with LPS-1 penetrant, then carefully pulled the connectors apart. I go in with an stiff brush like a 1/2" acid brush and tried to clean out the corrosion. Clean-out with electrical contact cleaner and air nozzle blast. Then re-assembled with LPS-1 again. Seemed to work for us. The critical part is gently disconnecting stuff without breakage. P

It could be fusible link, firewall connector or "alternator" meter on the dashboard, I have met 2 of 3 of these.
