Post subject:  special exhaust manifold nuts

I remember someone had posted the link for the nuts that appeared to be somewhat similar to the original nut that had the grooves cut into it but they didn't look like they would rest into the brass bushings smoothly.

Out of the following two options which would be best...

the brass nuts i used with the batwings?

or

these conical all metal lock nuts and have the cone face into the brass bushing?

Thanks Yall
Gene

See here , and It is very much worth your while to get the good gaskets for the manifolds-to-head and intake-to-exhaust junctions.

Thanks, I had read that post but noticed on the product details it states "The strength of the bolt should match the strength of the nut to prevent damaging the threads. These locknuts have equivalent strength to Grade 8 steel locknuts." I'm assuming the studs are not grade 8 and would hate to screw up the threads. Do you think this isn't a big concern?

When installing the nuts from mcmaster-carr would you install them with the slots going into the bushing?

I also read in that post you all were hoping someone would make the batwing/butterfly washers. I know that was 10 years ago but i saw the other day aussiespeed makes them.https://www.hemiperformance.com.au/shop ... ant-6.html

And yup i'm using a Remeflex gasket!
