Dear Slant 6 Sages, (Doug, Dan,...) I have been running my rebuilt aluminum engine for about 100 miles. Friday night 2 mi from home, the rear cam plug worked its way out and POP it was gone. Heard it clink clink clink off the highway. Made it home and pulled the engine. Sure enough, that was it. So far, I cannot find a source for the original plug, or a measurement for this plug (FSM and parts manuals - thanks, Dan). The Mopar 61-63 Valiant manual lists a part number of 2264165, but I can't get it to come up online (incl Mopar sites). I get 1.945" for the hole with my not-so-expensive digital caliper. Anyone know a modern Mopar PN or aftermarket PN (Dorman, etc)? Thanks very much for your help! Lou |

I spoke to dorman customer service tech. They no longer have a listing for that part by application. But they have a 1.950 cup part number 555-040, and 1.956 cup part number 555-041 Here is a link to their online catalog https://www.dormanproducts.com/flipbook ... rdware.pdf Go to page 126 for cup type expansion plugs size chart |

Thanks, guys! I will also hit my local (awesome) parts store today and see what they have and what I can try out. Lou |

Might want to carefully apply appropriately-chosen Loctite to the OD of the plug before installing it. |

I bought Dorman 555-040 and 555-041. 041 appears to be a snug fit. I'll JB weld it in at least a few places to stop it backing out, and silicone over the back end to make sure no leaks. Thanks everyone! Lou |

Seems like I remember Doc using a weatherstrip adhesive on frost plugs to seal them in tight? That might work well in your application. |

I had a '64 Iron truck block with a larger than 2 9/64" cam plug. It was in ruster for a few years. I can't seem to find the part# for that overgrown plug now.. I am sure you will get it sorted out. Greg |
