I got the engine all buttoned back up and that thing really wants to fly.
I put one of Doc's camstops in, and I'm glad I did. I can hear it squeel a bit when the cam walks forward into the stop. and it tends to do it at high revs (high idle, when I step on it). now I feel safe I won't have to worry about replacing another gear bushing again.
On another note, since I put the second dowel into my cam, that annoying miss the 'randomly' occurs at stops lights while idling has stopped, every slant I've driven or owned has it. I wonder if one of the reasons is the gear has that bit of play at the 'peg'....
weird....
I'll update after a longer run to the store and a highway trip....
