Been researching Holley’s Sniper EFI lately. They have a 2 bbl version that gets my attention. I have a Offy 2x1 manifold that my intent is to open up and possibly install 2-2bbl Webers on. I’m starting to wonder if 2 of Holley’s 2bbl snipers would work instead. I like the idea of fuel injection and Holley has been getting some decent reviews. What do you guys think? Appreciate pros and cons. Thanks, Steve.

There are reasons why all OE manufacturers went from Throttle Body Injection to Multi Port Injection.
You can research that your self.
Rather than spending the $ to buy two Holly Snipers I would buy one MS2 or MS3, weld injector bungs on the Offy manifold, either make or buy a fuel rail and go MPFI.
With MS3 you get full fuel and ignition control as well as numerous other controls, electric radiator fan, traction control, two step throttle…..
MS2 will have similar fuel and ignition controls with out all the extras.

2X2bbl Holleys will most likely not work well. One (1) sniper 2bbl should work very well on a BBD or Offy 4bbl intake with adapter. Mark Charapich has that 2bbl TBI on his 61 Valiant and he is happy. He tried the FITECH and it would not tune properly.

MS 2 with the latest firmware has many of the extras, It does however lack the inputs of the MS3.

If i were going new MS3 for me.

I hope to use a FItech throttle body and MS3 on my Green car over the winter or next year.

I have a ‘65 A100 pickup that this engine will be put back into. I’m not looking for tons of power, just decent drivability and dependable. I like the idea of EFI.

I have finally gotten the MS2 on my '79 Volare Duster to idle and start / run like a newer car. I installed a batch Fire Multiport Injection with a 4.0 Jeep Throttle Body back in 2008. THe MS2 Fires the coil and handles the fuel squirts and Idle Valve. I tune on it pretty much every time I drive it. The Car has 235,000 Miles and counting, but the MS2 maybe has been around for ~80,000 Miles.

I have tuned the Closed loop idle and the IAC Valve to function properly, similar to a newer (1993 or newer Engine)

Even with the A/C on and electrical Loads such as Fan / headlights etc on it idles smooth.

Maybe I should do a Start up video and post it up...
Here is a link to my EFI thread:

Best of luck!

I am using Ford 460/7.5L injectors with a GM Vortec Throttle Body with a MS3 Pro in the slant in the 68 Barracuda.
Without much tuning at all I am getting easy starts, great performance-throttle response and 19 mpg highway with 3:55 gears.

From what I gather from reading on the Megasquirt forum tuning dual throttle bodies presents its own unique challenges. Port injection would be my first choice. A single throttle body would be simpler but it will suffer from some of the same fuel distribution issues as a carburetor does.

In my experience, if your carb/TBI is tuned properly, then the Slant 6 has really minimal fuel distribution issues, cylinder to cylinder.

However, carbs/TBI can crash the fuel out in a cold manifold, which makes for sucky running in colder temps or on warmup, and port EFI fixes that.

6 port injectors with 6 throttle bodies would be the ultimate EFI Fuel Delivery solution for NA Engines.

maybe even DI, but there are some drawbacks there too.
