Let's have a roll call for all that are going to try and make it to the Knoxville races. 2 races on July 8th. I will try and be there as long as there is a reasonable car count. So who is coming? Rick Covalt |

I plan to be there. Not sure which car either, but it will be hard not to drive the supercharged Dart as it is just so dang nice on the freeway, and is the fastest car I have right now. Again, if the weather is really nice, I may bring the Coupe. Lou |

Sadly, I don't think I'll be able to make it. After a good day Saturday, I had a horrible day, today. Mowing the yard, I got the zero-turn mower a little too close to the lake, and got it stuck in the soft ground. Shut it off, and got off, intending to get a chain, and vehicle to tow it out. Saw a little smoke from underneath, looked to see from what, and saw a small flame. The hot exhaust set the tall dead vegetation on fire. Fast walked up to the house while dialing 911, to get the hose. Broke the hinge on the flip phone, and had to go into the house to call. By the time the fire dept arrived (they did not take long), had a nice little brush fire going. They got the fire out with no major issues, except my mower (which ran good when parked |

Charlie, I am so sorry to hear about the fire, mower and your stressful event. I'm glad you did not have a worse fire... Take care and take a rest for a spell... It was great to see you in Hagerstown earlier this month. Lou |

I spoke to Courtney by text today and she asked about the car count. I told her 3 so far. So if we want this race to happen we need to have more racers. The Everhadt's can't make it and Brian Mimken is doubtful also. Courtney said that she thought Isaiah and her dad would race. Which is still only 5 cars. So who else out there wants to race!! |

I just called Mark Charapich and he will think about it. He was at work so we'll catch up more this weekend. Slant on, everyone... Lou |

Sounds good, Joel! I just spoke with Barbara Bruner and she said they can provide free lodging for most if not all of us (2 beds in house, several beds in RV, with AC). We'll have a BBQ dinner with cake for Meril's 90th and a great time at the track. Gary knows about the HOF. Mark Goodman let him know. Thanks, Mark! I also spoke with Bryce Gill (Gillwelding.com) today and they will come with the now turbocharged and EFI'ed "Lab Rat" Dart. Who else can make it??? I'm getting excited! Lou |

Lou is everything happening on the same day? The barbecue? Two races? Did the Bruner's say anything about Rodney. Courtney was going to contact him I thought. |

| Post subject: | Re: Knoxville Races - July 8,2023 - MORE DETAILS |
Thanks, Rick. MORE DETAILS: There will be two races on Saturday July 8. Gates open around 10 AM, time runs at noon, and we'll have one race around 3 PM and one at eve/night. There will also be t'n't Friday night for those interested. Gates open around 4 PM. Barbeque will be at the track in the afternoon (pulled pork, cake, sides, drinks). Rodney is coming. Joel Harris from St. Louis will be there. I'll be there. Gary will have a car, and Isaiah. Bryce and David Gill will be there with the Lab Rat turbo/EFI Dart. Mark Charapich will most likely be there. Rick Covalt? Greg Ondayko? I will talk to Brian Mimken again. Charlie's a slim maybe, but he is resourceful! Barbara and Gary can provide beds for about anyone who wants them (in aircon'ed RV or house). This should make for a good turnout. I think Meril will really appreciate everyone coming to celebrate his 90th year on this Earth! Thanks and see you all in Maynardville! Lou |
