Dumb question, but where is -2.5 degrees BTC on this damper? I've marked the "0" line but need to set to factory specs. I'm assuming BTC has to be to the left of that line
for BTC; ??

2.5 degrees ATDC would be at the bottom edge of that; the numbers are positive degrees BTDC.

Why are we running at ATDC? It should run better with at least a few degrees before.

I'm not used to looking at the driver's side mount timing tab, but 2.5 degrees BTDC would be half way up between the 0 TDC and the first line up (5 deg mark). Not?

Thats what I thought as well; I need -2.5 degrees BTDC... NOT ATDC

I read your request as negative 2.5 degrees BTDC, hence positive 2.5 ATDC, sorry.

You do realize that the OE factory tune up specifications will not necessarily give you the best: emissions, drivability or performance today.
Todays gasoline is much different from what it was 40 or 50 or 60 years ago. Your engine, due to age and wear is also likely much different from when it was new. Most nearly stock old engines will run better with a bit more ignition advance than what is specified back when they were new.
