ImageReplacing the (I think) original carb on a 64 Dart 225. Purchased new one from Rockauto. It is a uremco 66190 (6-6190). The Linkage has a "swivel joint" and a fitting with a bolt that attached to the throttle lever on the old carb. The new carb has a very different mounting flange on the throttle lever. Any clues as to where to go with this issue. I'm calling Uremco tomorrow to ask them, but I thought I would ask the group.

That's not the correct carb for a '64 A-body (Dart/Valiant). That carb you got would fit a '65-'66 A-body with factory A/C, and it would fit a '62-'67 B-body, but not a '62-'66 A-body without factory air.

Many years ago there was an adapter you could get from Holley which would allow you to install a carb like that on a car like that, but it's been unavailable for a long time.

There is just no longer any good/easy/inexpensive answer to the question of a carburetor for a pre-'67 A-body. "Remanufactured" carburetors (with or without the right throttle lever configuration) are a terrible gamble, a big crapshoot with most of the emphasis on the "crap" part. There's a new carb out of Argentina, a sorta-copy of a sorta-Holley carb used down there, which will sorta-fit with a bunch of fettlefussing. Once in a great while a new (old stock, never used) carb comes along. They work great, but they're scarce and expensive. Old-stock rebuilds are a much better bet than anything done in the last few decades, but those are scarce, too. Just no good answer here. X-(
