Looks like I might be getting (a little) involved in this project. Owner had the engine pulled (225 slant six) to be rebuilt. Without getting into a long story, the engine and many parts dissappeared. The van owner has an auto upolstry/trim shop and I need some interior work done on my cars. So we are talking about some trade off. I was worried about the external engine parts not being available. Took another look at the van, today, and located the slant six adaper plate for a PB 727 V-8 trans, and the engine mount brackets, in the back of the van. The oil pan is missing, along with the oil pickup tube, but I should have one that will work, along with a proper dipstick and tube. I don't have the time to build the engine for him. I'm just going to help him out with parts and a "core" engine. Still need to find out what oil pan to use. Does anyone know what pan was used on a 1974 D-200 PU with a slant six? |
