Picked up a 64 Valiant station wagon with a slant six that someone has done some engine work on, but left it incomplete. I’m taking it apart to check the work and pulled out the cam looking for ID numbers. There were no numbers on the end but on the shaft itself, it has C20 750 D20. Any ideas of what the #’

Gotta figure out how to reduce file sizes to add pictures

Any idea of what those #’s mean?

Thanks,
Dennis

Cam grinder job lot numbers? Foundry numbers?

Only way to really know what you have is to stick it back in the engine and measure valve events with a degree wheel and micrometer.

I second this. Or have a qualified machine shop that is willing to verify the cam measurements do this for you.

Also you may be able to get some discernible data by doing the same thing reed describes but in a set of V blocks on a workbench - you will need to to be able to somehow discern the angular movement of the cam with these measurements.

Best of luck!!

How much could be gained simply by measuring the high side and low side of each an intake and an exhaust lobe, of "lift" would be enough to cross reference something...

After searching the stamp on top of the Pistons, they are sealed power engine piston set part # 244np 30 so I’m pretty sure it’s just a standard rebuild. Nothing extra. Nothing makes me think that the cam will be anything extra than original specs even though it came to dutra duels and aussiespeed intake.

It may not be fast, but it’ll look good lol

Always thanks for the input!
