I need to replace the fuel pump on my van. The stock pump has a return line to the tank. I'd prefer to just delete the return and run a two line pump (one in, one out), but I'm concerned that the fuel pressure might be too high without the return. I'm running a stock 2bbl Super Six setup. I've also been unable to locate the three line pump at any of the usual parts sources.

P.S. I've looked around forums and don't see any discussion about return lines on pumps, etc., but maybe I've missed it.

I think (Not sure) that that line has probably been replaced by one on the fuel filter. Most of that era trucks have the return line that goes to the fuel filter. At least all of our 85's do. That is supposed to help with hard starting and vapor lock I think. In a van with the dog house it may be good to keep it. No down side. You should just be able to get a fuel filter for the van and it should have the 3rd connection. If not get one for the 85 D100 truck, they all have it.

Thanks! That's a big help, and certainly solves the problem.
