I bought a pair of rotors for my truck (83 D250) as I don't even need a mike to look at the old ones and determine they're junk. But I don't want to use the new ones I have. I'm trying to minimize the "made in China" stigma in using as damn little as possible that comes from there. Any chance anyone knows of a honey hole of USA or Canada made rotors collecting dust? Out of 2 rear ends I'm hoping to have at least a pair of good usable original drums between them so that I don't have to put Chinese ones on that end... I have 1 new in box but hopefully it can stay there.

I gacve up trying to avoid made in China products. Socio-economic realities being what they are, its just not possible to avoid Chinese products.

If you are beound and determined to use USA only products, you will be looking for old stock items on eBay or Rockauto and NOS parts vendors. I found a new old stock aftermarket USA made replacement master cylinder for my 76 D100 on Ebay for $20 by searching for the correct part number. Getting part numbers and searching for those is your best bet.

Which is where a lot of my bought parts come from anyway. I do all I can to buy old but brand new parts and don't click on the first one of whatever I'm looking for when on feebay

Got a line on some American made ones via feebay and they sent me an offer but want local pickup. Problem is they're in NY state and are advertising as local pickup. Then sent me another response that they won't go down if they have to ship.... I don't know if that means they're retracting their offer or or what since I replaced that I had a number in mind that was a little bit less than their offer... I guess I'll reluctantly use the Chinese ones I have here then .. brakes are too important. I miss the days where I could just go to the parts store down the street and get USA or Canadian drums/rotors.
I think the trade number for the ones I need are either 5330 or 5530. Having a brain fart

Well I actually found some and have them coming
And have since had offers of other sellers of them
via eBay Canadian. Way better than Chinese could ever hope to be.
There's a story here if anyone is interested, may be a honey hole to help others find parts.
The guy I got them coming from is in Walkill NY. Yeah I'm in Slantzilla-ville IL.
(Well not quite haha) But in the area.
Thru FABO there's a member there that posted a thread in the "transportation" thread saying he is coming to power tour and was willing to pick up stuff along the way. This member lists his location as "new England".
I PMd the guy and he's gonna be able to grab them on the way.
I live right between Mondays and Tuesdays power tour stops. A little bit closer to Monday's.

Anyway this seller just called me and says he owns a parts store and has literally tons of wagner brake parts he bought years ago and has just been sitting. I think his eBay handle is "many toys". Check him out. I don't have a Wagner catalog but he has lots listed on eBay.
From my experience he's very helpful and patient and seems willing to do whatever he needs to to help you (me) out.

And I already have a pair of new Chinese rotors for this thing but I hate Chinese parts especially for such important things as brakes and suspension. I'm rebuilding/restoring this truck from the bare frame on. And it will be hauling a nearly 7000 lb, 28' jayco camper when completed. Maybe I'm crazy ( don't answer that) but if I can find American made parts (USA/ Canada) for anything I work on, I do.
These vehicles weren't built in China initially so why should we be forced to maintain them with chinamade parts?
Even among chinamade I see different price points, " good better best" sort of thing. Is there truly anything different about the more expensive Chinese parts vs their cheaper ones than a label?

oh and I have the parts store owners (first) name and phone number. Not sure if it's his store phone or cell phone or what. Id like to post to help both you guys and him, out but not sure if I should. For now I suppose I'll give it out by PM if anyone is interested. I'm not sure how extensive his inventory might be. I just browsed his listings quickly and going by his words that he has "tons". I don't know how far his inventory may go past brake parts.
