I was reading the posts about oil filters with the internal standpipe, the Wix 51806 rather than the 51515. My '74 uses the "Shorty" filter (like the old Fram PH43). I've been using Wix 51068. Does Wix (or anyone else) make a standpipe-equipped equivalent of the 51068? |

I don't know, but you can just use the larger filter and there will be no ill effects. Lou |

I use wix 51515 on standpipe and no standpipe slant 6's with no issues. I am sure thre is some sort of ph43 cross refrence to wix or other reputable brand with a built in standpipe too. SlantSixDan will have to inform us of that part.# or you can search here. |

Go ahead and use the tall 51806. The only reason short filters started coming on Slant-6s in '73 or so was because Chrysler changed to the short filter on V8s to make room for something or other, and they wanted to have a common oil filter for all engines. |
