Introducing (drum roll).......Kermit! Kermit vital statistics: 1972 Plymouth Valiant. 225 slant 6, 904 auto, air, p/s, not much else. Everything works... Kermit had slightly over 60,000 miles when I adopted him a couple years ago, now has over 90,000. Driven everyday, including 300 mile round trip commutes. I own or have owned scads of cars (mostly Chrysler products), this is the best ever! Before anybody screams "restoration", Kermit is rusty. Composite scraps and roofing materials keep the feets inside ...... Just care-free transportation Kermit just oozing personality (and a couple fluids ) Kermit's slightly crooked, but lovable grin Half-fast body work by previous owner (the one between the old lady original owner and me, the one that smeared on some bondo, but couldn't figure out why Kermit ran like crap - it's called a tune up ) '71 "Duel" style 'caps procured and installed by me 14X5.5" wheels with wide meats out back. Kermit logo Note custom 10,000lb GVWR hitch I use for pulling my car trailer Can Kermit get some action, please? Seat was unblemished for years by the old lady who floated over the seat. Same can't be said for my fat @$$, hence the custom green flame seat cover and underlying duct tape. Also note total taxi style wall-to-wall rubber floor mats Kermit pickin' and grinnin'... New-in-box FM converter found where else? ebay. Paid handsomely for that "stick-up" air freshener is Kmart supplied... Bone stock, one barrel 225 slant six engine installation waiting to spank unsuspecting left-coast 63 Dart GT's......... a/c is R134 equipped and cold Hey, wait, that's not Kermit! This is the Orangasaurus Wrex, aka "The Orange Monster". Was thinking of upgrading to slant 6 power ....... Land Ho!!!

Spank left coast unsuspecting GTs? I can take a hint. I'll put my rusty quarter panels up against your duct tape interior anytime so let me give you some stats. 1968 block with more numbers on it then the vote yes on California recall, header pipe beats against the torsion bar until the flange bolts fall off. original no seal intact pushbutton 904 with all the free grease and "unknown to this earth fluids" one could want. mint leather trimmed seats with the missing man formation headliner (you know, every other panel not there) unknown brand am/fm job, complete with baby crap brown prototype Earl Shieb circa 1967 paint job. 175/70-R13 direct from Pep-boys on the original rims. mint chrome and trim. Cool blackout treatment on the grill (too cheap to fill the pitted aluminum) I think the E brake works now, know the amp/temp gauge don't thats why they invented Auto Meter. Electronic conversion..and thats about it, but,i'll tell you he runs with the best of them. Gotta love that poor folk look....Dave (BTW DW this is scary..hung a stuffed kermit on the rearview mirror years ago, could this be some kind of sign?)

All love Kermit, Kermit loves all. Ohm..... "DW" P. S. - It's the S/D Six Duster all the wing-and-trash-can-tip kids seem to have the difficulty with... I got at least one acura and a mitsosomething under my belt at the track...

It has numerous rust holes in it, also an intererior as large as my living room... and oh yes, a 383. Last July, at the presumed 300-thousand something mile mark, O/M developed a dead cylinder (wafer thin rings finally turned to dust), so it is currently undergoing a "freshening up" and upgrade to "HP" status, including an AVS, dual exhaust with humpy HP manifolds and a custom grind torque cam (I found out about reed cams through this site and I'm very pleased). If you think the Orangasaurus Wrex is big, you should see the Jolly Green Giant, my '72 Newport Custom 4-door hardtop hooptee test-bed..... D/W

I like that Newport Convertible. How many girls does it attract? What kind of gas mileage did it get? Is it fast, will it hold you back in the seat? Did it come from the factory with dual exhaust?

It overpowers their wills, and they flock to the O/M in droves. This is no B.S., either. Just the other day I had three generations of beautiful chicks from the same family loaded into the O/M ...snooty college chicks who normally wouldn't give an "old" man like me the time of day leave their cotton-twill cap wearing boyfriends standing speechless as they hop into the Monster with me! The cool thing is that the top has a cloaking device stealthily designed in so that all rust holes, dents, flaking paint and torn seats simply vanish when it is lowered. It is funny, really... O/M is really quite rough, but I get compliments constantly on what a "nice" car it is, or did I "restore" it? If it was exactly the same only with an integral metal roof, the same people would say "what a piece of $#!+" I love convertibles! Quote: What kind of gas mileage did it get? ? Convertibles seem to emit an aura of coolness, no matter what make or model they are. Do you have any problems trying to pass people in the O/M ? I know that 383 2-barrel has some punch in it. Better than a fully loaded Chrysler Fifth Avenue powered by a slant six. That poor little motor was in over its head on that one. Owned that car for 1 year till I sold it. Did get pretty good gas mileage though.
