Anybody out there have the Mr. Gasket part number for the adapter that allows you to mount a Holley 5200/Weber DGAV on a slant six one barrel intake manifold? Thanks! Reed |

Why would you want to do that? There are 2 ways that I know of with a 1-bbl. intake: 1)-Prolinefuel's adapter: http://www.prolinefuel.com/1bbl.html 2)-hog out a 1-bbl. intake and use a Mr. Gasket #1937 adapter (Dave York outlined this method in Slant 6 News #32). TransDapt also makes an adapter for this (#2086)...it's basically a large Holley 2bbl-to-Rochester 4-bolt 2-bbl. adapter. Why not just use a Super 6 intake and the #1937 or #2086 adapter? Would save you a bunch of work, 'cause doing it with a 1-bbl. intake is definitely not just a "bolt on outta the box" deal (except with the Prolinefuel piece). Have fun, which ever way you go. ---Red |

Red- I am doing this mainly in the interest of time. I just bought a 81 Cordoba that hads a good running 225 in it but the carb is worn out. I do have a complete Super Six assembly in my garage and I would gladly bolt it on, but I don't have the time to do it right now. The appeal of the one barrel adapter is that I don't have to do a manifold swap and all the labor it entails, plus the stock one barrel exhaust system won't be as restrictive with the Holley 5200. If I had more time I would gladly Super Six, but I don't. I have tried getting in contact with prolinefuel but they aren't responding to my e-mails. I know tha tthe proline adapter is identical to one sold by Mr. Gasket. I used to have the part number for the Mr. Gasket piece but I lost it and the Mr. Gasket website doesn't list it anymore. Plus, I am getting 15.5 MPG even with a blown choke pulloff diaphragm on the Holley 1945 on the car now, and I like the possiblity of increased fuel economy offered by the staged two barrel 5200.
