Pertronix works well if you want to leave everything else as is, it just replaces the points in the distributor.

To go to mopar electronic ignition, you need an electronic ignition distributor, a control box, different ballast, and the wiring you can do yourself.

To go the aftermarket route such as msd or crane, you need the the electronic ignition distributor and the box. I believe you can use the stock ballast with the stock coil in this setup. If you use an msd coil as well such as the blaster2, you get rid of the ballast.

The basic aftermarket boxes are usually about $150. I personal opinion, if you are spending money to upgrade I would go this route because it does net you a smidg more power because it allows for a more complete combustion due to the multiple sparks. If you still want to upgrade but do it cheaper, then the mopar electronic ignition is ideal.
