I found my brodcast sheet and thought I had it all sorted out, but I've had some questions lately (particularly on the build date), so I'll see what I can find out. The car is a '76 Dodge Dart Swinger. Thanks! line 1: E24 engine=\6 D24 tranny=4spd -it has a Hurst shifter. Aftermarket, or rare option? LH23 ? C6G eng, yr, & plant=\6, '76, & ? 130620 actual consecutive serial number line2: MF2 lower body paint=Jade Green Poly E2F6 trim code=? 000 ! ? A29 order #? 082176 build date= August 21, 1976 line 3: V1F roof=(was) green vinyl U ? G52 mirror outside left=exactly that L31 fender/hood turn indicators=those cool little turn signal things L73 electric fuel pacer=is this for the gas guage? M21 drip trough mouldings -i need these if anyone has some... line 4: M26 wheel lip mouldings M38 misc. mouldings=? N37 exhaust system=? R11 radio+Music Master AM radio K5X stripes=? A1 light package=? line 6: END Also, what does "Swinger" designate? |

LH23 =Dodge Dart High price class 2door hardtop C6G eng, yr, & plant=\6, '76, St. Louis, MO 130620 actual consecutive serial number line2: MF2 lower body paint=Jade Green Poly (Jade Green Metallic Ditzler code 2852) E2F6 trim code=Economy All vinyl Bench seat 000 = upper door frame paint code A29 = October 29, 1975 Build date 082176 =Factory assembly prosuction code line 3: V1F roof=(was) FULL green vinyl roof cover U =USA Manufacture G52 mirror outside left remote and chrome L31 fender/hood turn indicators=those cool little turn signal things L73 fuel pacer system= has a small white plastic vaccuum pod atttached to your driver's side wheel well behind the battery, should have a vaccuum line from the manifold to it and two wires leading to the driver's side fender mounted turn signal..if you're using too much gas pedal the driver's side turn signal will light until you let off the gas...if you've disabled it and not rerouted the wiring, the driver's side fender light will remain lit until you fix it or restore the 'fuel pacer' system M21 drip trough mouldings -i need these if anyone has some... line 4: M26 wheel lip mouldings M38 Deck ornament treament (got a dodge emblem sticking out of the tip of your hood?) N37 Catalytic Convertor R11 AM radio 2 watts K5X Type 1 Body side moulding with black inserts...(got those plastic 'bumpers' running down the length of the car????) A1 -if at the end of the tag it's a sales or corporate order code, but may also indicate a dealer ordered option like the A01 -Light Package line 6: END End of sales codes A high class car with a minimal interior...what kind of stripes are those?!?!? -D.Idiot |

Hey DI. Thanks! Was reading the wrong place for the build date. Oh well. I'm not sure what the M38 Deck ornament treatment is. No Dodge emblem sticking up off or the hood (thankfully). It has Dodge stamped in the top of the chrome around the grill opening, but I think that's normal. Yeah, I have those black rubber "bumpers" down the side of my car (for now). It also has a double pinstripe -sticker- the length of the crease just below the beltline... Thanks for the paint code, how did you know it needs painting? Hope to have pictures up sometime soon... -zorg |
