Starting a SL6 Project- street driven, no regard for mileage, low end torque, possible 1/8 mile bracket racer , prob. nitrous, maybe torque converter abd cam change. Anybody used 4.56's, 4.88's, 5+ low rear end gears on a slant six. Must be great off the line (?)- where does it top out? |

Charlie- do you run 5.13's or 5.38's on your nitrous mtr? Do you ever run the car on the street (and I don't mean freeway trips)? |

I have run both. The 5.13's are in a 7 1/4 rear. The 5.38's are a 8 3/4. I run 3.91 with a 22 inch dia tire for the 1/4, and put on a 26 in tall street tire for the street. I use the 5.38's with a 26 in slick for the 1/8. I have run the 5.38's on the street to go to a cruise, that was only about 20 miles. I was just too lazy to change pumpkins. Had just raced a 1/8 track, and the next race was also 1/8 mile. |
