My clutch adjusting rod is very worn, and needs to be replaced or repaired. I have two spares, one is straight and one has a bend, the bend looks like it could be factory. Could it be the straight one is for a slant, and the bent looking one is for a V8? I tried getting a replacement, but they are obsolete. So, three questions --- are some clutch adjusting rods bent looking, and what motor does that fit?, 2nd question --- if some are bent looking, what do the straight rods fit?, 3rd quetions, can replacements be found?

Since you're not getting any replies, I'll share my limited knowlege.
I don't know what kind of car you have, but you should find
the same rod, whether if be straight or bent (yes, there were the two types) as they won't interchange on the fork. Mopar Performance (and Year One also I think) sell the straight rod, which definitely works on 67
and up V8's and probably? the sixes too. I know from a recent junkyd.
trip that a 61 Valant SL 6 car there had the bent rod. Dont know if the bent rods are available anywhere, but there certainly not as common.
Maybe someone has info on what rods fit what vehicles and engines,
but you'll have to stick with what you have unless you're going to change
the fork.

I stumbled through this issue, and have it back together and working. I reapaired the original rod by welding in some material to replace the amount that had worn away. On close inspection, it looks like the rod should have been essentially straight --- my replacement part was bent. I have several 64 and 65 Valiants, and I noticed that the V8 cars have what I would consider a normal fork rod --- a loop on one end, threaded on the other with a nut. The slant cars have the same or similar rod, but it fits into a deep cup that attaches to the fork with a pin. Maybe that will help you too. I think you could use a normal fork rod, but if you have an early slant car, the clutch fork is probably set up for the pin and cup receiver.
