The 904 oil pan is squarish shape with one beveled corner.
The 727 oil pan is squarish shape with one beveled corner and a lump on another corner.

So, I have a 727 is it fairly easy to rebuild? I've never rebuilt a trans. But I'm willing to try, so I can maybe save a few bucks. By the way it came out of my 77' aspen.

The easiest way to tell is a 727 has a dog-leg on the corner of the pan where the dipstick goes. A 904 is perfectly square.

The hardest parts of rebuilding a Torqflite are getting the seals in the clutches without nicking them and setting the endplay on the input shaft.
