Whoever had the Dart before I did really hacked up the dash to put a cheap stereo in it, and, since I can't find one for '64, I was wondering if a '63 Chrome Radio Block Out Plate would work. Or would it look stupid? I'm too poor to find out the hard way, so I figured I'd ask you guys. thanks, josh |

I hate a hacked dash, the mentality of some people. Go get some plexiglass or aluminum scrap and trim to size, thread the back and bolt up through the knob holes. Anything is better then a gapping hole and over-the-counter plates are used to blank out a original size opening and most likely would not be the proper dimensions to cover a hack job, plus every plate i've seen commands big bucks, although I can't figure out why. Sounds like a 10 minute project if you skip the chrome finish. If I were doing it, the aluminum would be my first choice, as it would not require further finishing and the cost would be just a couple of bucks...Dave |
