Post subject:  2 bbl bolt patterns?

The carter BBD bolt pattern is the same as a Rochester 2 Jet, correct? Whats the CfM ratings on the 318 bbd versus the super six? I decided against the holley 4412 becuase of space limitations, any carb suggestions? Thanks.

I am not sure on the CFM ratings, but the racing manuals state that the 318 BBD is worth 5% more HP then the \6 BBD.

Cool thanks, is that 5% on a \6? What year would be the best to use(318 BBD)?

There wasn't any "junk" hanging on this one. Just the choke pull off. I had to plug about 5 vaccum nipples.

The excese vacum ports wont be needed(I only need 1), so 73 is probably a good cutoff year so I don't get to much smog BS. What about a B motor or a bigger small block BBD(might be abit big tho) my ideal CFM is anywere from 350-450 so I may have to do some searching.

You don't want a BBD then, they only flow around 280-290 cfm. I'm sure I got really lucky when I found mine. It looked(and still does) just re-manufactured and some one knew what they were doing when they tuned it. I felt an increase in power and got a 2 mpg boost just by bolting this carb on.
The only vacuum ports I am using are the vac advance and hot air intake valve in the winter

Post subject:  350 CFM=Holley 2300

If you're looking for that kind of CFM, you'll be paying for a mr.Gasket #1937 adaptor kit and going to the Junkyard and finding a Holley 2300 off a Ford V-8 2 barrel (early-70's are more common in some places).
I have one in my stash off a mid-70's 302 and it has the 'economaster' venturies that have a bit more restriction than the standard ones, this will increase signal and atomization.

Or you could try to find a Rochester 2G from a Chevy 327. I believe they are in that CFM range. No adapter needed. Any 2v from a 350 or larger engine will need some sort of an adapter. A Rochester will need linkage fabrication.

I had a 2300 series 500 cfm that was going to go on it(when I ws going to put a turbo on to), but i want a lil' less now. That is why I was thinking BBD, but maybe I will just put a rochester on it.
