I have had headers on my daily drivers for quite a while. I had Mopar 6X1's on my Duster, and Clifford 6X1's on my '66. Never had a whole lot of problems with either set.

Make sure they come ceramic coated if they are going in a driver car or they eventually will rust out. Use some nice thick clifford or cox bros gaskets and make sure the flange isn't warped before you install it.

Other then rust and getting them to seal on both ends I don't see why you would have anything to worry about.

I have clifford 6x2 on my daily driver pickup and have had zero problems except for rust.I really wish I would have had them coated but you live and learn.Dutra duals are another option which Im using on my 60 Valiant.

Someone needs to cast a header as thick as a typical manifold. That would be the best of both worlds but quite heavy I would think. Maybe out of some other lighter weight material.

Post subject:  thin cast

i don't know much about casting but i think thinner materials would crack easier, that's why cast iron is thick... I think tube headers are best with some sort of coating on them, also it's nice to use some header wrap, wherever it's easy to get the stuff wrapped on.... once you get headers to fit (few hours putting dents/dimples in - use 2 hammers - one ball peen for the denting and one to strike the other hammer) they are good to go. Even ones without coatings that get rusty will last a long time...

if you want to got the cheap route, use Bill Hirsch Coatings header/manifold paint (don't use VHT header spray paint or any automotive store header paint) http://www.hirschauto.com/ it's best to sandblast or beadblast the header before painting with this stuff

I've been told by others online and by the guy who ceramic coated my headers that wrapping isn't a good thing. It either a) holds so much heat inside the header they can melt itself or b) holds moisture against the header so they rust even faster. Just sharing a thought.

I was just imagining something like Docs Duals, but cast into the shape of a clifford. I wonder how much that would weigh.

How about the original hyper pak exhaust manifols with a little bigger cross section? They were pretty nice looking

Maby is this for the whole hyper pack?

Whats the difference between the "whole" hyperpack and just the manifold? The carb maybe? And thats what, $300 new? ;)

The price for an original hyperpack manifold is high because of how rare it is.
