I have a built 225 with an auto 904 on it. I am looking to do work to the 904 so that my shifts are as hard as i can get them and that the power the engine puts outs is actually getting used. I know i can get a shift kit and high stall torque converter but is there anything else i can do? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

hi, i used the guts out of a 999 or 998. it allows for a 2.74 , 1.54 , and 1.00 ratios verses the stock 2.45, 1.45 and 1.00. it allows a harder launch without high cruise r.p.m. are you going to use performance clutches and bands,< kevlar or similar material> or standard stuff? just make sure you put dextron in it and not type f . read the i smell a fight posts for more info. ron .

Which parts from the other transmission should be swapped into the 904?
I'd like to beef up my '64 pushbutton 904 with "V8 guts" some day, but would like to know what fits, what doesn't, and what parts are upgrades vs replacements.
