In a recent post on the .com site it was mentioned that a H-P works better on a milder slant six. My engine will be bored .060 and decked(along with the head being shaved to reach a 9.5 to 1comp ratio) and have a Comp Cams 264s cam.
What is your suggestion on the head? I have already gasket matched the intake/exaust manifold ports to the head but I m wondering about valve size and for some reason Im thinking that for street use the stock size valve may be better. This engine will be in a 60Valiant with a 4spd o/d ,3.55 gears and will be a three season daily driver so street maners are important.I will also be using a 450cfm Holley VAC SEC CARB .
I have read and damn near memorized all of DI's posts on his Hyper experiance but as my situation is a little different I was wondering if you may have some other words of wisdom. Thanks in advance and sorry for being so long winded.

I would think that the goal for you combo is to keep it somewhat mild and ""streetable" and build the combo to have "killer" mid-range power, say from 3000 to 5000 RPM. The parts listed can support that goal.
You should stay with stock or close to stock valve size but do some "pocket porting" right under the valve seat to help the flow. Back-cut the exhaust valve and do more porting in the exhaust ports.
DI's work with his H-Pak is a great reference, dividing the plenum and running the carb "sideways" is something you sould do to support the mid range power goals. A 225 SL6 engine set-up like this has an amazing amount of torque and seat of pants power at 4000 RPM.
