The talk about bore spacing in the BMW design thread reminded me of something I noticed many years ago when the 3.9 V6 (pre-Magnum) was introduced in the Dakotas. I seem to remember reading that they also used 4.00" bore centers like the slant, as well as similar valve sizes and other dimensions. Anyone know what the exhaust port spacings are on the two engines? I wonder if it would be practical to cobble up a pair of V6 exh. manifolds to use on the slant as a cheap route to split manifolds? Maybe 2 drivers side manifolds installed one behind the other?

Just wondering out loud...

The V6 Magnum and pre Magnum are both derived the the 273/318/340/360 LA motors. It has the same bore spacing, which is 4.46".
It also has 2 of the 3 ports siamesed, most likely won't work. Doesn't hurt to wonder, there may substitues out there.
