probably a broken wiper transmission. I think the linkage is under the dash. Turn the wipers on and watch under the dash with a flashlight to identify the moving parts. If it's not something obvious flopping around, you can shut the wipers off and have a friend move the broken wiper back and forth while you watch. If the trans is broken you will see it flopping around. If nothing moves you probably have a broken wiper shaft. Can someone scan a parts breakdown for the wipers? It looks a lot simpler than it sounds. |

If it's just the Driver side arm I'd suggest you check to see if you have lost/broken the clip that holds the pushrod for the passenger side wiper on the post under the dash. Not a bad fix might require radio removal. Good Luck! |

It's probably one of those nylon bushings that connect the transmission to the wiper arms. You can even get them at AutoZone. I went ahead and replaced all of mine since I was in the dash anyway. Also, on my 73 Duster, the driver's side shaft that runs to the arm had come loose from the plate the transmission rods connect to. I couldn't easily repeen it on so I had a weld tacked on and all is fine. Mike |

Does anyone have a diagram (or exploded view) of the wiper arm assembly? I'm going to replace the bushings on my Dart this weekend and I think it would help to see how everything comes apart and goes back together. Also, I can't seem to find a repair manual for '64, but 67-76 can be easily purchased at most parts stores. Should I get one? thanks, josh |

Check ebay, I just quickly searched and found 2. Also search google, there are loads of places online that stock factory service manuals and some even reproduce them on cd. |

If you haven't taken yours apart yet, I would take some good pictures first, or at least make some good pencil sketches. Here's what I encountered.... I made a quick sketch of how my son's '74 Dart Sport wiper linkage was oriented. I have a '76 Duster parts car. I have a "Detroit Iron" Factory Shop Manual for the Dart Sport which has the diagrams of how the linkage should be oriented. None of them match up. Jerry |
