well, the N2O plate i have has threaded removable fittings that has a sealent on it
my guess is yours is like this to but what brand of NOS system is it? theres many different makers of "NOS" plate injection kits.Justin

Hello all !!!! I'm trying to adapt a nitrous system on my car but I have a question about the nitrous plate. Could the fittings on the plate be removed and replaced by a 90 degree fitting, there seems to be some sort of epoxy holding them. I don't want to risk damaging the plate by doing this..... just a guess as I know nothing about nitrous, but it might be pipe sealant (Masters) on the threads, which would be there to prevent any leaks. Just for gods sake if youre going to change any fittings make sure you seal the threads adequately, because NOS burns hot and any leakage is a fire hazard. |

Actually,nitrous is non flammable and is nothing more than artificle atmosphere under pressure although without proper amounts of fuel with it ,it will cause a engine to run extremely lean when the button is pushed and burn pistons. HyperValiant |

It's a N.O.S. 2 BBL injector plate....today I went ahead and took a good look at it...very carefully tried to remove the fittings....turns out it was teflon paste  ...had no trouble removing them....but thanks for the heads up !!!!!Alex |

Hyper, you are absolutely right I stand corrected. Nitrous is called an "oxidant" which is not flammable itself but aids flame propagation, kind of like compressed oxygen does. It will still cause a hazard if there is a leak in that it will greatly aid anything that is burning closeby. I had it confused with methanol for a second; meth actually burns without luminescence and has an invisible flame. Very dangerous.

Steponmebbbboom,I didnt mean to come off sounding like a know it all but I have heard too many kids at the local parts store talkin bout how "NAWS" burns like rocket fuel and just wanted to keep the misconceptions about nitrous oxide to a minimum,but I agree that a nitrous leak is indeed dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. Hyper, I know what your motivation was and I completely appreciate it!  I don't want anyone to think that they can't challenge my opinions and open a debate if they disagree.
