The subject is fairly descriptive, I'm looking for my option on an exhaust manifold because mine's seen beter days. I know that for a good price I can get a stock manifold type but I was wondering if anyone know of any performance or better designed version that might be better at standing hard use.

Oh yeah, My car is a Dodge Dart 1973. It has a 1bbl 225 slant six.

Dutra Duals are an option.

You may be able to use your cracked manifold to make-up the rear manifold.

So has mine. When the head was redone (rebuild/unleaded conversion to my stock '65 head) I just took the intake and exaust manifolds off as a pair. Despite the cracks they where not completely broken and stayed together. I put them back on as a pair (I bet those bolts between the intake and the exaust have never been out). They continue to work fine. Yes, a slight leak for the first 2 or 3 minutes when started cold. But it quickly goes away and they work fine. Anyway, I've seen more cracked /6 exaust manifolds than non-cracked ones. *Espcially* true of the old non-ribbed ones used on '65's.

That %&$* manifold has got to be the worst part on the slant six (an otherwise excellent engine). I've often wondered if I could heat the engine up real good and leave it running, then weld the cracks up in place (do not try with electronic ignition) :-)

Do Duals.. Your slant is trying to tell you somthing! In the past any break bend, or failure i have went the best i could get! I put a pushrod though a lifter so i went full adjustable with 3/8 pushrods. Now is the time to upgrade if any time was.

Duals sound fun, though they definately would be an odd accent with a maybe 105 horse engine(assuming that the upgrades that I've done make up for an exhausted engine). Thanks for the options, now all I got to do is make up my mind. :D

I just swapped out a busted exhaust manifold. I still have a leak. I think there may be a slight warp, it leaks where the intake meets the heat riser. Maybe a machinist could true a manifold set to seal better.

Not sure if this is a stupid question but where do I get the front part for the Dutra duals? I get the rear manifold procedure and believe I know where I could do the arc welding but is the front manifold part bought somewhere?
