will the 8.25 in my 68 dart swap into the 7.25 spot my 80 aspen had? by the way the 8.25 is about 1.25 inches or so over all longer than the 7.25 that came out of the dart. |

If I am reqading this correctly, you want to put a A-body (Dart) rear into an F-body (Aspen). This has been coverd many times, both here and at .org. Yes it will BUT, as you have discovered, the overall width is wider. You will have to relocate your spring perches (welding), your drive-shaft will need to be lengthened, your Dart has the small bolt (4") wheels, while your Aspen has 4.5" so you will either have to carry two spares. If you want to change this then, 1) replace your axles or 2) redrill your existing axles for the larger pattern. E-brake cables SHOULD be OK as is and the hydraulic hook-up should pose a problem. You may have to locate different wheels depending on the amount of off-set you now have. If this sounds like something you want to do then go for it. Personally, I would opt for a F-body rear. It would be a lot less hassle. |

ok the one in the dart is a large bolt patern setup the origional rear in the dart was also a 7.25 but now I have an 8.75 for the dart and was just wandering if it would go into the aspen. |
