Post subject:  What is a good performance CAM choice for a stock 6

Hi

Can anyone recomend a good cam to up grade to. To get some more pep out of a stock 6 (225).

This is for a auto street car with, everything stock.

I need to replace the timing chane and though while I have it appart I could do a can swap.

Looking for somthing tried and tested and affordable.

And if so, where can I get one from or any for sale outhere.

Many thanks

The Mopar 244 degree .435 lift is a good choice.
You may want to search the message board for more info., someone else was recently asking the same question.

either of the comp cams are great the larger would require a 2bbl intake though

I have a great Crane cam that gaves good performance and good low end. When the cam gave out, I couldn't get another one because it was no longer available. So Doug had the cam "profiled" for me, then we sent in a used core (with lots of meat on it) and had it cut. I still have this cam in my 255 with a 2bbl carb. Perhaps Doug can still have this done. I really like this cam!

The spec sheet says:

1960-up Slant Six
170-198-225
Good idle, daily performance usage, good low & mid-range HP.
