Post subject:  Wooden steeringwheels????
Ok, I'm looking on Ebay for a new steeringwheel ( Mine has some small cracks and the hornring broke a few days ago) and I would like to buy a wooden steeringwheel,..

Here is what I would like to know:

1. was there ever a real wooden steeringwheel produced for mopars or only the woodgrain ones?

2. What's a rimblow wheel, why is it different?

3. Will chrome hornrings fit on those wheels? I like them better than the black pushbuttons.

4. most important: Which steeringwheels will fit my 1965 Dart? ( ebay ads never mention the year '65 :-( )

I have seen several "wooden" steering wheels in Mopars, but, they are most common in the Challenger/'Cuda models.

I'm not too familiar with "rimblow", heard the term before. A friend of mine that is about 600 years old says it has a full 360 degree horn ring.

I've never seen one, but try going through the http://www.texasacres.com website. They got some pretty one off kinda stuff.

your best application i believe would be a wheel fom the 65 66 barracuda.I think it was an option,so it might not be on every one.It is a very sharp imitation wood. Goodluck!!

If you have a burning desire to keep the wheel stock, you might consider a repair kit from Eastwood. I have tried their kit and it seems to work out OK. It takes a little work, quite a bit of sanding, but it can be done and will produce a good looking wheel. For the horn ring, you might try www.wildcatmopars.com. They have a large inventory of old Mopars and can usually find the part you need. It is worth checking out their site. Regards. RMDV
