Post subject:  ARP Connecting rod bolts

I went to put my pistons in today and I ran into a problem.

As you can see in the picture, the arp bolt on the right is slightly different then the stock bolt on the left. The arp bolt will not press all the way into the rod because the head is shaped different. The part number is 142-6001 so they are the right bolts, is a little machining the answer?

142-6001 is the old number. You need 142-6002 which is the new design just like the original slant 6 bolt.

The 142-6001 needs a small "spot face" to use, the 142-6002 works without the spot facing but the head is much smaller and does not completly cover the notched surface.
