My 73 Duster says the engine should be at TDC and 750 RPM for idle. However, the engine is not a 73, it is a late cast engine with hydraulic valve train and heads that are 81-83. It does not seem possible to idle this down that low and I know past posts here have said to set timing around 10 BTDC. I have the timing around there and have been playing with other settings to see where I get the best idle and response. Any suggestions on RPM and timing given this hybrid setup? Also, what are high idle suggestions. As always, thank you everyone for the wonderful advice. I have all the major issues resolved and tomorrow it goes to the tranny shop, then for alignment, and then new door springs so I can close the driver door. Then we are at long last on the road. Thanks.

Mike
