First i must thank you guys for a very nice and informative site, i have got a lot of help from reading your questions and answers forum. And i have a question that might be silly, but here goes...what kind of spark plugs should i get to my 225? Here in Norway we have Bosch, NKG, Champion, Eyquem. The reason why i am asking is that i bougth the car and it was not running, and the guy who had it before did not know ANYTHING about fixing them. So when i tried to hook up my timing lamp i got no "flash" so after trying a lot of things i took a plug i had on the shelf and put it on the #1 wire and grounded it and the timing lamp was "flashing" again so i took out the plug of the engine and grounded it too but no "flash" so im thinking that it is the wrong plugs alltogether in the engine. The plugs that are in the car now is Bosch super H6BC, (maybe to a lawnmower) Thanks Mike, (yeah, i was born in Brooklyn NY |

Just my opinion, NGK's. I always used to run champions, but I finally started getting bad plugs out of the box. I switched to NGK's and never looked back, my slant likes them. No experience with bosch in my slant, never heard of eyquem... -S/6 |

I've never had luck with anything but Champions in a Chrysler product. |

I have used just about every kind of plug you can think and never really noticed much difference in a stock SL6. On a high reving SL6, I like the NGKs. DD |

Ok, thanks guys! Then i guess that the plugs i have in there are the right ones (Bosch super H6BC) since nobody commented on the plugnumber. And tonight i suddenly got a "shocking" Thanks again |

The brand of plug you use is irrelevant. That only determines how long they last. What you are looking for is the heat range of the plug. All my regular manuals are in the car right now, but the MOTOR manual in my lap here lists a Champion N14Y plug for the slant. You can cross that number over to whatever brand you wish. And yeah, youre right about your problem being elsewhere. If the plug threads into your head and the wire fits over it, it will fire regardless what heat range it is. Go over your whole ignition circuit. Don't forget the points and esp. the ballast resistor. |
