Does anybody have experience with this manifold? I can only find one picture of it. Does it have a tap for my power brake booster? I was persuaded by Clifford to go with this one instead of the much neater looking Hyperpak because of master cylinder clearance and street-ability.

Here's the link:

Thanks,

The manifold is OK but not the IDF carb.
The Weber IDF is not intended to be used in this application and a number of other SL6 owners have had trouble with this set-up and with Clifford selling it to them.

Keep shopping around, contact Proline about their Weber conversions, their set-up works.

Thanks for the quick reply, you likely saved me a lot of grief. It sounds like the fellow from the other forum had a very similar setup to what I'm proposing.

I'm definately not going with the IDF, especially after reading through those posts.

Do you have any experience with the Edelbrock 500 CFM on a slant 6? It seems like my two most likely options now are the dual Webers from Proline (neat!) or a Ramflow/Edelbrock combo from Clifford/Summit.

Thanks again!

I run that Clifford manifold with a Weber 32/36 DGEV, and my experience is that the ports are too big on a stock head/stock stall covertor, etc. Lost some low-end torque.

If you want more low-end torque, the factory supersix manifold or the Offenhauser 4bbl or the Proline dual Weber would be much better.

I run a Edelbrock 500 with an Offy intake. The carb is probably a little big. I get good power improvement, but not great mileage. I think it has to do do with the stock cam. I also have headers with dual exhaust. I had to do a cable linkage modifacation similar to what Doc did with the Pro Line. I did not have to do the kick down (4 speed). I heard the Edelbrock is easy to tune or modify, that's why I got it.

Thanks for your comments. I'm not really worried about gas mileage, more about driveability and performance. I think I've narrowed it down to either the Offy 4 barrel/Edelbrock 500 or the Proline dual Webers.

Does anybody know of a good retailer for the Offy 4 barrel intake?

JC Whitney still sells 'em. www.hotrodvintageparts.com can also get them, I believe.

Ebay or this site sometime comes up with any Offy for $150 or less.

Awesome! After getting a few more opinions, I decided on the Offy 4 barrel with Edelbrock 500. I'll let you all know how it goes, probably in a couple months.

I am running this intake with a holley 600cfm vaccume secondary I have alot of cam and alot of head work to suport this aplication but the manifold as is produced more hp than the offy did. I do not have the dyno sheets with me but I think the diffrence was about 15 hp

I have an eddlebrock 500 for sale. My motor was broken in with it on an engine dyno.We also ran a 600 cfm eddy after that and put out much more torque and horse power. My head have had a ton of work done to it . It was polished and ported and bull hogged behind the seats. I used 1.77, 1.44 Manley 11/32 stem pro flo valves. The 500 has a couple hours of use on it but my particular build up likes the bigger carb. $200 plus shipping will work for me.
