| Post subject: | Where Can I find a Gas Cap? |
Hey all. Anyone know where I can find a gas cap for my 67 plymouth Belvedere II convertible? Stant stocks a locking one that I have on there right now, but it doesn't seal up tight and I always end up with fuel running down the side of my car. The original was a body colored screw-on type. I have tried so many different Stant models, and none of them seem to work. Any ideas? Thanks! Jonathan |

Ebay? What is that? How do I use it? Where can I sign up? JUST KIDDING!!!! Yeah, Yeah. Ebay. I know. Half the caps they list there are stant models that don't actually fit my application. I've tried them before. That's why I figured I'd ask ya'll since you're the pro's. |

You might try "Laysons Auto Restorations" www.laysons.com, but don't expect an imediate answer. I have had two gas caps for a '63 Valiant on back-order for over a month. I found a cap that would almost fit, (the opening on the filler tube for the 63-66 A Bodies is slightly smaller than other years), and used a Dremmel tool to grind down the outside of the metal cup shaped piece and the ears that catch under the lip of the filler tube. It takes some trial-and-error to get the pieces to work properly, but that is the best I could come up with for my car until Laysons responds. Good luck. RMDV |
