I have a 1967 plymouth valiant automatic 225 with the reverse,neutral,drive,2 and 1 on the column of the steering wheel.
I also have access to an automatic floor shifter from a 1969 plymouth barracuda V-8. Both cars look like they have the 904 transmission.
My question is...Would it be possible to swap out my automatic
column shifter for the automatic floor shifter from the barracuda?
I would also have to trade out my bench seat for the buckets.

I am almost done moving my shifter from the column to the floor in my 66 dodge dart. I did it alittle different by buying a b&m mega shifter that uses a cable to shift gears instead of linkage. Right now it shifts gears and seems to function fine, but i need to rewire the reverse light switch so that it works with the floor shifter.

The only problem you might have is the linkage to the tranny. I am not sure if the linkage will match right, but you might be able to use a cable like mine. You also need to wire the reverse switch too. Look for more professoinal opions too.

Sure, those parts should swap over but the brackets for the floor shift are welded onto the trans tunnel so this is more then a "bolt-on" swap.

Also pay attention to the steering column, are both cars manual steering?
If one is Power Steering and the other Manual then athe steering shafts wil need changing. Also watch the electrical "pin-out" to be sure all the wires connect to the proper circuit. (they should)

when you dsiconnect the auto linkage from the v8 car be carefull not to damge any parts. There is a bracket that botls to the tailshaft of the tranny near the spedo-gear, the threaded studs on the end of this brcket are prone to breakage when removed.....just take extra care not hurt this hard to find piece!!!
