I was under the impression two-tone paint jobs started on '61 valiants, but I've seen a '60 wagon with an original cream/green interior and an exterior white top/green bottom. Is there a way the factory identified two-tone paint jobs on the vehicle ID tag in the engine compartment?

Under the PNT on the fender/radiator mount/whereever is was placed tag...

The first digit is the lower body color, the second digit is the upper body color, and the third digit designates whether it's a sport top/convertible....

So like BB1 would be a car painted all in Jet Black...but say some nut job who had too much ergot that week, asked the dealer to order his car in JA1.... so it would be a Aqua Mist lower body paint with Buttercup Yellow upper body paint job...

some guys on here may have a fender tag decoder for most A-bodies if you have questions about yours.
