Post subject:  How to keep ignition switch from turning on 63 Dart?

I've got a 1963 Dart.

The original ignition swith had a small tab on the end (that fit through a slot on the dashboard) that kept the switch from turning even if the chrome trim ring/nut came loose.

Today all you can find is the switch without the tab. Result: if the chrome trim ring/nut becomes the slightest bit loose, the whole switch turns.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

TIA

Mr. Jackson, you might be able to find a good used switch with key. I am assuming your's is not origional. If this is the case then you already have a different ign. key anyway.

If you had no other choice, you could drill a 1/16'' hole where the tab used to be and tap a small roll pin in there. Ive done it before and if you had a steady hand you could as well. But replacing the switch is the more favorable option IMO.
