Anyone know how to add intermittent wiper control to my '74 Dart Sport?

Someone I knew bought a generic variable wiper speed control from kragen. The hookup was pretty easy, just +12 ground and line to the motor. Worked pretty well, and you don't have to cut up the car wiring, just run your own.

So, does the stock switch get replaced, or is this device mounted underdash and simply by-pass it? I have to consider my electric windshield washer pump is operated through the stock switch. Wouldn't want to go to the foot operated style.

Pierre, did the Kragen unit have intermittent capability, or just variable speed?
I'd bet that JCWhitney has something like that; their specialty is doodads.
If you want to scrounge and aren't afraid of wiring, you might be able to adapt late model stuff (switch, intermittent module, etc).

My right hand is my intermittent wiper control... Oh yeah, my left and right hands are my power windows, my right foot is cruise control, and it also serves as my ABS (I can pump my leg 50 times a second) .

I put an intermittent wiper control on my '64. With the single-speed wiper, every wipe became a double-wipe! It didn't seem to hurt anything. The original switch was functional, although it did not always park the wipers correctly.
When I had to rebuild a large part of the wiring harness, I scrapped the intermittent control.

I can't remember... I think just variable speed. But the lowest setting was like one wipe every minute or two (maybe more?) You can probably find newer ones that have a knob and a button, and use the button when you only want a single wipe.

It mounted under the dash or anywhere you wanted to put it. It was pretty small, could easily fit in the palm of your hand so its not an eyesore or anything. If you wanted to get creative you may be able to fabricate something to mount it in the dash.
