I found a 65 Belvedere (slant w/3speed) in a yard this w/e. It had what appeared to be an 8 3/4 in it, but when I checked the gear it was a 741 case w/3.31 ratio. Will this bolt into my A-body housing? I had never heard of this unit. |

741 has a smaller (read weaker) pinion than the 489, but should work fine for you; still plenty strong for an A-body slant. |
