Hello all - I am the new member today and here to ask what seems like a simple question of compatability. I have a 1970 Dodge D200 truck. The engine is in need of a rebuild and I am looking for a complete motor to swap it out with. The truck has an origonal four speed transmission.

Question: Will there be compatability issues with installing a 75-80 version of the slant six? Will the flywheel and bellhousing mount properly?

You can use any post 1968 slant six, the flywheel will mount just fine. One thing to be aware of is that the 1981-1987 slants are hydraulic lifters so if you use one of those, no more valve lashing....

good luck on the swap,
